Shelley O: Lady in Red

We haven't checked in on the First Diva in a while, kittens.

Confession time: We gasped when we saw the closeups on her face and said "A Gay did her makeup!" Which is, of course, quite silly, but it looks so flawless and dramatic that we instantly assumed one of our sisters-in-fabulosity was responsible. Reason took over when it came time to write this up and we have to admit we have no good reason to assume that. Still, we like to imagine a skinny flamboyant African-American queen with double-pierced ears and at least 3 belts too many flitting around the White House giving snaps and rolling his neck at any perceived affront. Chances are it's not true, but isn't that a reality show you want to see? Antoine Lamay: Queen of the White House.

Anyway, her makeup really is flawless and glamorous. Also, that dress is totally fab. Also, also, we LOVE the earrings and the cuffs (but think she should have restrained herself to only one of the latter). This is one of those weird OCD things we'll cop to, but when a woman has one hand all adorned with cuffs and ring and the other hand bare, it always looks a little unbalanced to us. Not that it's wrong or anything, just that if we were in her presence, we'd have to restrain ourselves from going up and taking one piece of jewelry off one side and putting it on the other. After which, the Secret Service would tackle us (which could be fun) and drag us off to jail (which isn't fun). It's for the best that we don't attend any White House events, don't you think?

All in all, it's one of her best looks ever. Go Shelley.
